Excellence Ringuette teams successful in Blainville

Both of the teams representing Excellence Ringuette in the Blainville tournament came home with medals this weekend.  In the Atome B division, the Early Birds made it to the finals after winning the semis in overtime on Sunday morning.  This set up a rematch against St Eustache, the team that defeated the Early Birds the night before, in overtime.  In the finals the game was close, and with a scoring spree in the last 4 minutes it finished in a tie once again.  All through overtime the Early Birds battled hard but the game would only be decided in shoot outs. After four shots each, the Early Birds were declared the winners, having scored twice and thwarting all of the St Eustache shooters.

The Junior A team also made the finals after breaking a 3-way tie with their goal differential.  They were facing the hometown team, a strong team and the only one to have beaten them in the round robin.  Despite scoring first and playing a strong game, the Sport Etudes girls did not beat Blainville.  They earned their silver medals and were excellent representatives and ambassadors of the program.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches, and to the Blainville tournament organizers for a wonderful time.
